2009 - 2010 SLA Committees
Education: Chair Open
The Education Committee develops ideas for informing SLA members about issues that affect the lake and then implements an educational plan for the year. Contact Ed Quinn to volunteer.
Fisheries:
Steve Mann - Chair
The Fisheries Committee works with the DNR Fisheries to propose fishing limits, provide information to SLA members on net surveys and promote habitat.
Lake Vegetation:
Dale Gustafson - Chair, Don Peterson - Co-Chair
Cutting curlyleaf, treating Eurasian milfoil and planting bulrushes are some of the activities of this group. Volunteers are always needed.
Picnic:
Deb Beltrand - Chair,
Betsy Hanson - Co-chair
The Picnic Committee plans the food, games, equipment and door prizes for the annual SLA picnic. Many volunteers are needed to make this event the success that it is. The 2010 Picnic will be held Saturday 7 August.
Water Quality:
Dale Gustafson - Chair, Charlotte Quiggle - Co-Chair
Controlling shoreline erosion and runoff is a major responsibility of this committee. If you are interested in lakeshore restoration projects, this is the committee for you.

Lakescapers:
Karen Sutherland - Chair
Lakescapers is a subcommittee of the Water Quality Committee. This committee is responsible for encouraging folks around the lake to plant with the health of the lake in mind. They will be planting a rain garden with native plants at the south public landing in 2010. A major responsibility of this committee is to organize the spring plant exchange.
Water/Snow Patrol:Rick Kanniainen - Chair
This committee mans the patrols on the lake both summer and winter. Contact Rick if you want to be a part of this very important and rewarding team of lake residents.
Area Communicators:
Doc Williams Coordinator
Area communicators keep the Board informed of new lake residents. They also help in getting treatment permission slips signed by residents in their area. Communicators are listed in the front of the SLA directory. If you are interested in being a communicator, contact Doc.
